Global help

Helping disadvantaged children

My international commitment to children with anorectal malformations goes back a few years. The mission of this group of pediatric surgeons is to support underserved countries with specialists in surgery and urology. The Pediatric Surgical Brigade Group started in Honduras as early as 2013

  • Operating on children who were on the waiting list at a public hospital
  • to train local pediatric surgeons in colorectal surgery
  • organize medical equipment for examinations and operations
  • To cover the costs of medication, hospital and cleaning staff, anesthetists and surgical aids

Support with a donation

Globally, anorectal malformations are the fifth leading cause of death in children under the age of five if not treated correctly. To help, my colleague Wilfried Krois and I founded the non-profit organization Helping Hands for Anorectal Malformations in 2015.

The aim is to help abroad once a year. Ecuador is next on the list. We can help up to 40 children with the incoming donations per mission. Every euro donated will benefit children who are directly affected.
